Why December is BETTER than January For Making Change.

Even with the holidays!

Longtime readers will know that I’ve posted several times about New Year’s Resolutions.

They don’t work.

This year, I’m punching them straight in the nose.

  1. The Big Picture 🖼

  2. Explain It To Me It Like I’m 5 🧒

  3. New Year, New Content, New You. 🗳️

  4. But, December Is … 🎄

  5. Parting Zen 🧘‍♂️

The Big Picture 🖼

If you’re always waiting for ‘the perfect time’ to make a change:

  • It will never come.

  • It doesn’t exist.

  • You’ve already set yourself up not to stick with it because you know this.

This truth may sting a little.

If it does, good.

That sting is exactly the direction you need to move towards.

Because in the fact that you’ve known this all along lies the solution to never having to feel this way again.

Explain It To Me Like I’m 5 👦

Today’s topic, as simply as possible:

“The best time to change is now.”

New Year, New Content, New You. 🗳️

I’ll be running this poll for the next 2-3 weeks - please vote so that I can make this newsletter even better next year! Thank you!

But, December Is … 🎄

Yes, I understand that December is full of:

  • Holidays

  • Alcohol

  • Family

  • End Of Year Business

  • Desserts

  • Eating Out

  • Travel

  • More Desserts

Perfect.

Because if you can do X in December, then you can do X + 1 in January.

Your X might be a very small step.

It might even just be some internal work, such as ‘getting clear about your Why.’

It might have nothing to do with food or exercise at all.

But here’s the thing:

If you start making a small change now and ditch the notion that later is better, it is MUCH more likely to stick.

A simple word, phrase, or thought to take with you:
