Is Your Weight Dangerous?

(And what to do about it.)

What is a ‘dangerous’ body weight?

I’ll define that today.

The Big Picture 🖼️

What is a ‘dangerous’ body weight?

It depends on your body fat percentage and other factors.

I don’t want this email to get too technical.

If you are not lean and carrying more than 5 or 10 pounds of excess body fat, you’re making a dangerous gamble with your health.

I don’t like scare tactics, but I must tell it like it is.

You are too valuable, too important to your loved ones, to give away even one extra minute of life or quality of life.

I will admit that, yes, some people can be overweight or obese and live a long, healthy life - and be healthier and happier than many lean people.

But why not be healthier and happier than them even longer?

Explain It To Me Like I’m 5 👦

Today’s topic, as simply as possible:

“You’ll never regret an extra year or two of active life.”

Plan & Prepare 🛒

You don’t have to use my template.

You do have to ‘Plan & Prepare.’

This is the number one nutritional skill most people need to improve to move the needle on their health.

That’s based on hundreds of conversations with people like you.

The Beautiful Thing 🌺

The beautiful thing is that you can do this.

You can begin with one very small action.

Something as simple as making five minutes to plan.

That’s a start.

You don’t have to cook 90% of your food this week.

If you make a 10% improvement in the quantity and quality of your food, great!

Yes, some people are ready for more change faster.

But what’s more important than what you can do this week is what you can stick to next week and the week after.

No one arrives at a dangerous bodyweight overnight.

It took me several years.

The other beautiful thing is that your body will make positive progress faster than negative.

10% weekly progress adds up quickly.

Parting Zen 🧘‍♂️

A simple word, phrase, or thought to take with you:

If you give it half a chance, the body will heal itself.
